stock sub and amp how do i hook it up to new cd player - GM Forum - Buick, Cadillac, Chev, Olds, GMC & Pontiac chat

Audio (and aftermarket electronics) This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

I don't think you can hook the stock amp up to any subwoofer...

I totally agree.. it wouldn't have any power and would cause havoc.. and if you split it to run your rears AND a subs you would have dropped the ohms to.. err.. crap.. it'* bad.. 1 ohm I think ??

If you get the proper harness adapter, the Pioneer will plug into the stock amp. It'* harness is built into the standard harness.

Are you referring to the rear 6x9'* as subs?

There is no subwoofer at all in any car.

The gain control in bonnevilles just controls bass gain going to the woofer section of the 6x9
*. To be a subwoofer it has to play much lower.

They're fed from the main speaker leads, so you just hook it all up right.
