ok so this started about 2 weeks ago and has gotten consistently worse, when i turn right the stereo turns off until i straighten out, and when theres bumpy road theres is a clicking through the speakers and it will turn off for a moment on hard bumps, i have cheacked all the speaker terminals, they were all fine and not touching body but i put electrical tape over the terminals just to be sure, it didnt help, the clicking and shorting sounded like a terminal touching body to me but that wasnt it, any ideas of what it is?

which grounds? i checked the speaker negatives, the amp gorunds are already supposed to eb grounded to the body, unless you eamn a loose ground? well either way tommorow ill go over all the connections and see if i find aything wrong

Aye, the first step in the book in regards to intermittant problems is to check for backed out terminals and corrosion.

What about the steering wheel controls. your power button may be sending the wrong signals when the wheel is being turned

i have an aftermarket HU, i tihnk i have narrowed the problem down to none other than the facepalte, there is a spot on it, when pressure is applied the speakers make that telltale click and it turns off, has anyone experienced sometihng like this before? i can understand the shock of a bump causeing this, but the right turns? i opened up the faceplate and nothing appeared to be loose or damaged

I actually had the same problem when I got my brand new Polk speakers everytime I took a turn the speakers shorted out. I took it back to the place who installed them and come to find out the wires were touching the body, and he turned the speaker around so they wouldn't touch and this stopped the problem and the speakers have worked great since then.
