what sort of quality are you looking for?

1 grand usually gets you a fairly decent setup. my sub+amp were 800 + 200 for the HU. I installed em and built the box myself though. I will put components in my next car though.

quality comes with a price.

my first sub set up was about 300 but the quality sucked.

If you are willing to do the work yourself you can save a LOT of money.

what'* your budget?

If you throw down $1000 you won't be dissappointed, especially if like to listen to your music LOUD. I am used to riding with the windows down at 80 and listening to the music loud. I tried that in my GTP, when I slowed down I realized I had blown every speaker in my car .

If I had 1G I would spend it all on parts and do the install myself. It is not hard. Spend the 300 bones you would have to spend on the install and buy extra and/or better equipment. I also own a 92se and the install is not hard. The hardest part of replacing all the speakers and adding subs is removing, then re-installing the door panels on the 2 front doors. If you just want bass and a new head unit, put some of that 1g aside and get same take out to enjoy in your new sound system. I spent less than 500 total for 4 new speakers, 2 amps, and 2 infinity 12'* and it sounds very nice. Im headunit-less now as of late, but my creative brand( fake ipod) sounds nice hooked up to my amps. If your an ebayer, use it, especially for speakers.

kits are like 15 bucks...not even a dent in the price of a good system.

what kind of SQ are you looking for...there are some CHEAP subs out there, but the SQ isn't the best.
