As far as speakers are concerned, you REALLY have it backwards. Anything you hear in front of you is in full stereo sound. Anything you hear behind you is monotone. Why put better speakers AND amplify them, if your only going to hear them in monotone?

You need to focus on your front soundstage. Replacing the rear speakers are not necessary.

Follow up with a sub for a decent low end.

WELL I CANT SAY THATS ALWAYS TRUE. SAVE THE MONEY DONT GET ME WRONG ALOT ARE LIKE THAT. BUT I KNOW MY REAR DOESN'T PLAY IN MONOTONE. BUT IT DEPENS ON THE HEAD UNIT. CUZ I HAVE INSTALLED ALOT OF SYSTEMS WORKIN AT A SOUND SHOP. DVD PLAYERS PLAY STEREO ALL AROUND. AND SONY RADIOS DO ALSO. CANT SPEAK ON JVC PIONEER OR KENWOOD. HELL UPGRADE ALL AROUND CUZ IF U CHANGE ONE SET OF SPEAKERS TO BETTER ONES THE OLD ONE SOUND ALOT MORE WORSE THAN BEFORE. ALWAYS GO FOR CLAIRTY

No, it is truth. It'* not your speakers, it'* how your ears hear the sound. Rear sound is only rear fill, that is it.

Go into any SQ comp car. You will see most only have a nice set of 3-way front components(or more sometimes), and a sub. That is it. And if they do have rear speakers, they are generally either the stockers, or something basic, definately nothing expensive. Why would you focus your sound behind you? When you go to a concert, do you stand with your back to the stage, or do you face it?

BTW, turn off your caps.

ill def. get speakers all around, since the back speakers are "blown" too. i think the only speakers that are sounding like normal are the rear door speakers. i think im just gonna change the speakers for now. the only thing wrong with the stock headunit is its a bit dim on the clock during the day(looks like a backlights out in the middle of the display), it is too sensitive to any minor scratch, and takes forever to spit out a cd. plus, i wanna get a headunit i can play my music files from my phone(either front usb port for a usb micro sd adapter) or a bluetooth heaunit(if i can get a newer phone). if i get a head unit and use that adapter, and stock amp for the speakers; could i plug in a seperate sub amp(the headunit i would get would have a seperate preout for the sub)? thanks
