I work in the mobile installation field, and lately have seen an explosion of Sirius satellites being installed. Seems like everyone wants Howard Stern and the NFL over Opie & Anthony and MLB (XM). Stocks shot up like crazy over the past month.
Anyways, who has satellite radio, and if you do, what do you like or dislike about it? I'm thinking of getting SIrius, but I've had XM, and was not really fond of it. Not sure if I want to pay $13/mo for something I won't use.

I had Sirius for a whole 3 months. It wasn't worth it really. CD-quality my *** and losing signal because of underpasses and 18-wheelers got really annoying. Unless you like to listen to the news a lot or you will get one of those units that you can take with you and use like a walkman (cool idea) then I'd pass.
I have Sirius through Dish Network [ch 60xx], and I used to listen to that when I was in-between sound cards for a week. It wasn't that bad, but I wouldn't pay money for it. I like more control, I don't like music being played, but me playing music.
leftd90: No, your stock head unit is NOT compatable with any Satelite Radio. You would need to upgrade, or get one from the company you would get your service from [XM or Sirius], and have it convert it to FM signal, or through a tape to stereo connector. Which would sound like ****.

2001 or 2002, was when GM started going nuts with XM. If your radio has an XM logo on it then you can. Otherwise you'll just need an adapter kit. If you're in your car a lot and don't like to mess with CD'* etc it'* perfect.
I have the stock XM in mine and I like it a lot. Bought a 5 year plan and got the cost down to $7.50 a month for the service. There is only one spot on my drive home where the signal is lost for 2 seconds and I can live with that.
XM beats commercial radio hands down. Only time I really listen to commercial radio is when I am in the car and want to listen to the local football broadcast

I'm kinda in a toss up with it.....I think christmas time would be about the only time a year I'd REALLY use it because I hate christmas music, and I'm really not too fond off my CD'* anymore. Other than that I can deal with the radio, my g/f'* CD'*, and my own CD'*.
