I just got my amp in and I was working on hooking it up and when I pulled the deck out knoticed that when Best but hooked it up that they conected the remote wire for the power antenna.

I am wondering if I can just hook the remote wire up allong with the antenna. Or can I just turn the key to on so the antenna is fully up and cut the remote wire to it will be in the up position.

a remote wire doesn't take very much power, so it'* fine to have that connected along with the power antennae at the same time. You don't want the antenna in the up position all the time anyways because it'* just going to get damaged!

Ok so the two being on at the same time will not draw more than 30mA since that is the max?

Also can I just tap off of the wire running back to the antenna and what on is it I believe there are 5 or 6 wires all running to the box for it

if you disconnect the remote wire that raises the antenna it will just go back down because it is just a signal wire that tells it to go up or down. you would have to disconnect the power from the antenna when in the up position to make it up all the time. (you could just disconnect the harness in the trunk) Also if you hook your amp up to the power antenna make sure that the power antenna is always up (not just up when the radio is on but also cd mode) because if you dont your amp will turn off when you listen to anything else other than the radio. It would be easy to tap off of the ACC wire on the wire harness on the back of your headunit which is usually the red wire (you can test with a voltmeter. it should turn on and off with the ignition.

What kind of head unit do you have installed? Many brands have seperate power antenna outputs (blue) and remote turn on leads (blue/white). Otherwise as mentioned you should just tie the antenna and amp turn together behind the head unit.
