How do they work if you need the chip in the key to start the ignition?

All the "chip" is is a resistor. All the unstallers do is measure your resistor in the key and mimic that same resistance to pass security.
That was an error my car had. When it got cold (10 deg F or below) the contacts would separate and I got a security error.

Most companies make a interface that learns the resistance need for the car and mimicks it. the modules usually runs around $39.


As far as having a remote start installed for $99, the ones we use dealer cost is well more than $99. our basic remote start/keyless is $289 installed + addition modules/relays
