Rear door speakers?
One other thought here...
When all your interior lights come on, does the courtesy light in the door in question work? The 2000 model year (in the 2000-2005 series) was the only one with door panel courtesy lights that actually lit up. I'm wondering if it might be for these instead. The only reason I'm curious is because GM became very good at not installing wiring for options not included in a specific vehicle build. I've really noticed this with the 2K+ Bonneville.

Okay, it'* one in the morning and ten degrees outside, but i had to check. The courtesy light on the door with the regulator I replaced works, the light on the door with the regulator I haven't replaced yet doesn't
....... what does that mean?

Not exactly sure what GM was thinking. The cabin air filter has always been available as a dealer installed option/accessory but they stopped installing during vehicle manufacturing quite some time back (IIRC somewhere in around the 2001 mark). Why? Your guess is as good as mine. Seems to make very little sense to me, especially if you were to order the top trim level.
As for the stereo, the SSEi and GXP have always come standard with a premium sound system. This includes an AM/FM/CD/Cassette, eight speakers and an external amp (Bose for 2000-01 and Monsoon for 2002-05). XM was never standard but was available in the US only Bonneville for 2003+ (in any trim level if I'm not mistaken). A 12 disc trunk mounted CD changer was also available in the SSEi & GXP.
The SE and SLE never had the premium sound system option available. These trim levels always had six speakers and amplification is provided by the head unit. The two missing speakers are in the rear doors.
