Default Rear bumper cover rattling

My rear bumper cover rattles like a **** when the bass hits. Anybody have any thoughts or ideas? I'm just looking for some ideas before I pull the bumper cover off.

TIA.

go pop your trunk and look striaght down. there should be a plastic trim peice, where the bumper meets the trunk, see if you can tighten that down or sound deaden it somehow

The entire trunk is dynamat'd (well, B-Quiet'd actually), including behind the plastic trim piece jachin references. The trunk lid quieted down, but no luck on the bumper cover.

There are three areas that I think rattling can occur:

1) The push-in fastener area below the trim strip between the trunk and cover
2) The cover itself against the impact bar
3) The cover against the rear quarter panels

The first two may be reduced by foam tape applied to the support and impact bar. I'd try 1/4" thick strips in places where contact is being made. This might be difficult to determine as the bumper cover kinda "floats".

The third one is a little more tricky because it'* in an area that can be seen. I'll have to give that a little more thought.

It'* not rattling against the quarter panels. If I push down HARD on the bumper cover right below the 'PONTIAC' on the trunk, it won't rattle. I can physically see it rattling up and down when the bass hits. I may have to pull the cover and stuff it with something to put some pressure against it. I like your ideas randman, any other ones?

Thanks guys!

At one time I think Home Depot carried a 1 or 2 inch wide foam sticky strip that was around an inch high too. How much space do you need to fill?
