Get yourself a wire harness specific to the vehicle:

Walmart, Best Buy, car audio shops, ect all carry this. You'll also need an antenna adaptor (GM mini to standard). This takes the guess work out of the installation and allows you to easily reinstall the factory radio if needed.

You will need this 71-1858 to connect to the bare wires in the car. This adaptor has the factory radio connectors.

Then you need this 70-1858 to connect the aftermarket radio to the [new] factory connectors.

Call your local audio shops and ask for the above part numbers. If you strike out, www.crutchfield.com

Everyone write this down in case you ever need to hardwire a GM
This works for pretty much all GMs (not GM imports ie: Tracker/Prism)

POWER
----------
12v Constant = Orange
12v Acc = Yellow
Ground = Black or Black/White
Power Ant = Gray

SPEAKERS
--------------
Left Front + = Tan
Left Front - = Gray
Right Front + = Lt Green
Right Front - = Green
Left Rear + = Brown
Left Rear - = Yellow
Right Rear + = Blue
Right Rear - = Lt Blue

If no sound comes from the radio when you put it in, it is most likely amplified. See if there is another harness with 1-3 wires in it. If it is only one wire, then tap it to remote turn on (blue/white). If it is a multi wire harness, it should be pink.
