Default Radar detector Question

Due to the damn extreme heat in Yuma Arizona, 113 today, my radar detector gets soooo fricking hot that it starts saying service required. I need all the help i can get with cooling it and keep it out of the sun so I want to put it as far as I can up towards the headliner. My question is does our factory tint stripe at the top of the window affect the performance of the Radar detector at all? I have a 955 beltronics detector.

I guess this should have been put in General chat maybe?

I'll move this to Audio and Aftermarket Electronics for you.

I run the Bel Vector 940 on the front in the Zilla (can't remember the rear dectector brand). I run it as high as possible on the WS.

Laser and Radar will both be unaffected by the tint. I've never had any issues, regardless of brand or install height/tint.

yup, they fit nicely in the 92-99 to the right of the roof console and the left of the pass sun visor.

I had my detector as High as it will go on the windsheild and it doesnt seem to have any affect on it. Still picks up cops like a half mile away or even more, I am making sure though. It only takes that one time. :?

I have mine right between the rear view mirror and driver'* visor on both cars. Tucks in nicely. Hard-wired with remote switches for the front and rear detectors on the center console (both cars).

I can clearly see the rear detector in my mirror.

I put mine to the right of the hump because I can barely see it, and someone looking in the drivers door won't.
