ok; I think we've beat pyramid into the ground. Glasuan has started a new thread about lightning amplifiers, they look a little more mainstream (bestbuy, crutchfield, etc)but I don't know anything about them so I am going to back off.

GO KILL THAT HORSE!

I would, IMHO, use them for highs and mids. More so a 1000 watts or more.

I have to disagree. I would never get any pyramid amps or radio , but as far as a sub , If you are truely looking for a low priced sub , and not gonna throw alot of power , A pyramid sub would be fine , At 100 watts , would not tell the diff between a RF or a pyramid , anything over 100 watts , dont bother . You can get a sub that will handle 100 watts for about 25.00!

Watts aren't a good measure of a sub, my "150w single 12: system was louder then kids with dual MTX 12" for example. It'* all in the setup and good choices in complimentary components.

I understand that but with 100 watts , you won't even tell the diff , but you will hears clear bass and fell a small thump.
If i didn't wanna spend alot I would get a cheap sub .

BS Man...anyone who says they can't hear the difference between a rockford fosgate and a pyramid at 100 watts, or 50 watts needs to get their ears cleaned. In highschool I had a 12" Cerwin Vega subwoofer, and a 50 watt hokey amp. A friend of mine had two 12" pyramid crapper series subwoofers off of a 100+ watt amp and they sounded like crap compared to my single 12. Besides, we are talking about the flagship vehicle for the finest GM fleet! lets not 'f' it up with cheap walmart speakers!!

IMHO.

OK , let get techy
A RF sub with 100 watts might only get 87db'* out of the same enclosure. While the pyramid gets 97 db'*. The cheaper one uses cheap cone material , which is lighter, paper also retains it'* shape at low power levels . At the same time at HIGH power levels , the RF would retain it'* shape and still keep it'* low db rating whie the pyramid would just break.
If we are all on the same topic "entry level" let'* use some examples
Pyramid : 1.5 inch vc , light weight paper cone , vented pole , ok mag and reg contacts, foam surround and standard spiderweb suspension . PRICE 25.00
Pioneer 1.5 inch vc heavy poly cone , vented pole ok mag reg contacts foam surround and standard spiderweb suspension . PRICE 100.00 +
RF , same crap above , 100.00+

Do you guys understand or should I post the fact sheets?

Well, I think the important thing here is the original author of the post got the point and moved on. I said a while ago I should stop watching this post, I think I will now. Regardless of how many watts you push through it most people will agree, wether their opinions are founded or not, that Pyramid is crap. The ability to be louder is not necessarily better. Post your techie stuff, I would like to see it.
