To fix that, you have to remove the actual antenna part and replace it with a coat hanger. That will also increase your reception 1000%

I just replaced mine...so friggin easy it is not even funny only 15 bucks from the junkyard out of a new buick (different part number but just transfer over the mount and it works fine)
