Power Antenna - GM Forum - Buick, Cadillac, Chev, Olds, GMC & Pontiac chat

Audio (and aftermarket electronics) This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

Default Power Antenna

Well, it won't go all the way down, started after i cleaned it off and shined it up (was looking bad from winter). SO, am i suposed to put a light coat of grease or something on it? it sticks up about 3/4" when it should be all the way down.

To fix that, you have to remove the actual antenna part and replace it with a coat hanger. That will also increase your reception 1000%

I just replaced mine...so friggin easy it is not even funny only 15 bucks from the junkyard out of a new buick (different part number but just transfer over the mount and it works fine)

Not unless it has a metal core inside.

On a serious note though, I think once those insides go, time for another one.
