P3 or Solobaric? - Page 2 - GM Forum - Buick, Cadillac, Chev, Olds, GMC & Pontiac chat

Audio (and aftermarket electronics) This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

Any sub will pound if its in a custom box, designed specifically for the sub your using. Even a piece of crap sub will sound good in a custom built box designed for it.

There is more to it than just the sub you choose.

I agree %100 here. I have seen a pair of crappy 8" subs POUND like mad in a custom box, and a pair of 15" subs sound like crap with little bass even with a ton of power in a ready - made box. Box design is a HUGE factor with how the sub will sound. ANY Q Logic box will work ( or any other ready - made brand ), but a custom box designed to the specs on the sub will make WORLDS of difference. MUCH louder, clearer, harder hitting bass out of a properly designed box

Totally agree. A local buddy of mine has the Durabrand (Walmart crap) doing upper 130'* with EXCELLENT sq, all due to the box he built for it.
