Default Opinons wanted (Infinity Kappa)

I once had a car that happened to be a 1990 Lincoln Continental. In this Lincoln, was the loudest, most badass stock system I've ever heard. Stock head unit, CD PLAYER (it was 1990 you know), and ten JBL speakers. That'* the only car I've ever been in that you couldn't turn the system all the way up in fear for your ears bleeding. It 100% crystal clear the whole way up, too. It was the bomb . Car was real nice and luxurious, but that certain 3.8L v6 didn't make near the power I needed, so I traded for a 92' Dakota w/ 5.2L bored over 40 thousandths and other small things the guy did to it. That was the second car I had before I had my license. My dad ended up selling it about three years ago... and he passed away last April, so I never got the money out of it that I was going to use to nicen up this ride.

ANYWAY, I want a system that will make my 4 speaker car sound somewhat equivalent to that Lincoln. I understand I won't have the coverage of a 10 speaker stereo, but I want the volume (or close) and the sound quality. My Grand Marquis has Infinitys, and they sounded pretty good. So, I'm considering buying the Infinity Kappa component system for the front, and full range 6x9s for the rear. Anybody have a similar setup? I have two 12 inch Kicker CVR12s that live in the trunk, so lows aren't really necessary, however I want full sound.

Just looking for opinions right now.

I used 5 1/4 Infinity Kappa Components in the front, and the full range Infinity Kappa 6x9'* in the rear and was pretty happy with them. They were powered by one of those older alpine HU'* that took a seperate 10ga power lead from the battery and put out something like 40 watts RMS per channel. I had them in my 94 Bonneville SE before i got the SSEi. Had the components in for about a year and the 6x9'* only in for about 3 months before trading in and putting the stock speakers back in. Part number 692.7i for the 6x9'* and 50.7cs for the component set. I'd sell them if you do decide thats the route you want to go since my SSEi has the monsoon system and different sized speakers all together. Still have the original boxes and grills.

if you want full sound go with the beefy infinity kappa perfect components and amp em up...I run mine with 250 watts a piece, with the gain turned way down and the sound is crystal clear. For bass i have the infinity perfect 12. The system is simple and sounds great.
