Default no rear speakers?

:?: my 88 bonneville havin 210k miles on it im not trying to spend any money on it except for the audio system, i put in a great pioneer cd player and am planning on changing the inside stock speakers but it doesnt seem to have any rear speakers... when i fade the sound to the rear hear nothing but silence... i looked for the speakers but couldnt locate em... i dont think i looked too good but if u guys know where they're at.. reply.. thnx

It is entirely possible to get a stock Bonneville without rear speakers installed. That'* how mine came, although mine is a 97. Even if it didn't come with rear speakers, it should have the wiring harness for the rear speakers, so definitely look in your trunk at the underside of the rear deck. If you have wires in that area that don't go to anything, and you don't see any speakers, then you know you don't have any!

why would some Bonnevilles NOT come with rear speakers???

Mine was apparently ordered as a rental car for Alamo car rentals in Hawaii. Apparently they don't feel the need for rear speakers?
