I know when i put the XM modilator in mine ,I had to buy the adaptor from Radio Shack to get it to work. Just a little over 18 bucks with tax

xbroken, you might want to look at this, it is a specific fit, slides right in, doesn't have to have that big plactic piece surrounding it.

GM is notorious for using a mini antenna plug.
All aftermarket decks use a standard size antenna plug.
Without the adapter the antenna plug will just fall out of the aftermarket hole.

I've seen people come to the shops that I have worked at complaining about poor radio quality. When I pull the deck the mini antenna plug has been taped using a whole roll of electrical tape to keep it in (but it still doesn't make proper contact).

Buy the antenna adapter its like $20
