Default Monsoon cd cleaning

Like many of you, I have the Monsoon system. I need to clean the cd player. It gunks up the discs I put in and then starts to skip. A salesperson at BestBuy said that they don't sell the car cd cleaners because they can damage the unit. I didn't stick around and search the shelves, I was just looking to get out. Any recommendations?

Thats just Bullshit, Best Buy floor people are usually less educated than McDonald employees. Might as well go to Lowes and ask a minimum wage clown tell you how to wire a 3 light switch. I'd check an audio shop near you. I'm sure they could steer you to a kit.

Moved to Audio section for you. We have some good audio techs here that dont frequent the NorthStar section often. Besides, the Monsoon is in all trim models, not just the GXP.

I get so angry whenever people tell me what best buy employees tell them. That same guy that was selling car audio this week, will be selling washers and dryers next week. GXP Venom was 100% right. They make cleaners for automotive applications. All of the major brands do. Maxwell makes them and they are affordable, and its a dry cleaning format. Buy it and use it once every other day for a while then weekly and then monthly. In my town, audio shops should have a sign that says "best buy repair and warranty center". I bet they even sell them too. Let me know if you need me for anymore help

Well..............it seems you have captured my sentiments about the salespeople at BB! Thanks for the advice and moving the thread. I will search in the audio section.

Yeah sometimes just for a laugh, I go into best buy and ask the sales reps tougher car audio questions to see if they are really knowledgable. I probably shouldnt do that but its just so darn funny to heart their answers. Lol! I know, i am wrong but I cant help myself!

The basic employment questions at Best Buy are:
Can you show up 90% of the time
Can you pass a drug screen
Show me your right hand
Show me your other right hand..........

I picked up the Maxwell last night. No more skipping, an imagine that - nothing damaged!
