I bought some new budget 6x9'* for the back cause the old ones were shot, and I know next to nothing about audio wiring so I have some questions. First, here is a pic of what I have to work with:



So my question is basically how to I hook this up? Does the bare wire end just wrap around holes on the connection end of the speaker?

Then how to I hook it up to my connection that exists in the car? Do I need the adapter in the picture or can I cut the wire before the connector in the car and splice them together?

As you can see I don't know what I'm doing so if you have advice I'd appreciate it! Thanks.

The gold terminals on the small wires slide onto the speaker terminals. You then need to crimp or solder together the ends of the small wires to your factory wires. One will be positive (+) and one will be (-). Your speakers should tell you which side is +/- so you can crimp or solder it into your stock wires. The wiring harness you bought is for installing an aftermarket headunit. If you are only changing speakers, it isnt needed. Most people just cut the stock connector off.

Okay, the plastic that is over the gold connector is really hard to get off. Then I thought to myself maybe it is supposed to stay on? It fits on the connector with the plastic intact, I just don't know if it will melt if I leave it on. So leave it on or take it off?

So I have them in the car now, however there is a pretty big gap between the speakers and the frame. I was just wondering if you guys have any ideas on how to best mount these.

Oh nevermind. I just realized that the mounting brackets were not part of the old speakers...

Success! They sound much better than the stock ones. Granted I only knew what the stock speakers sounded like on their way out...

Congratulations, you're now on your way to enjoying great sound in your car.

Be careful though, this is how it starts, first a set of aftermarket speakers, then maybe a new head unit, before you know it you are addicted and too much is never enough.

Haha, I think this will be enough for me.

My car came with the 7 band stock cd deck that apparently doesn't normally come in SE'*. If I only had the tape player that would be long gone already.
