making radar louder
so i fried my first radar detector cuz im stupid or something, but i was hard wiriing it up by where the mirror is. what the problem is, is i jam out whenever im driving. is there a way to hardwire the SPEAKER of the radar detector to the sound system. this would be no problem on the radar end, just spice into the internal speaker, but how about the other end? is there an always on external input? is it doable?
I did mine two ways. In my '98 I hard wired a JL Audio tweeter that I had left over to the speaker on the radar. I mounted the tweeter on the blank panel right behind the shifter. I have the SLE so I dont have any controls there. On my '91 I hard wired a Polk Audio tweeter right in the driver side pillar right about ear level. I had to do this cause when I had my system in there it was hard to hear. had to turn it up all the way and eventually blew the lil speaker in the radar.

but there is no way to hook it up into the volume of the rest of the car. cuz i dont need it super loud when i just driving along with the lady and light music on. i guess tahts what the volume **** is for
but i dont want 2 volumes
but i dont want 2 volumes
I just use the volume off of the radar to adjust it. When Im just sitting around hanging out listening to music I just unplug it or turn it off.
What about a bigger visual warning? Any way to hook up a neon or something to it?
