another thing to consider is their scratch and dent section. (where I got mine from, I still dont understand why it was in scratch and dent, but it arrived to me in an origional box with everything in it)

They have a full gaurentee on all the products and they are much cheaper.

I'm the other person with the Kenwood x790. I've dealt with a ton of head units and for the price, I haven't found many to be better than the Kenwood. The features list is long and full of stuff that helps your stock speakers shine like you can never imagine.

You may or may not have to, but yearh that'* it. Mine needed some quality time with a hacksaw, a dremel seems much more effecient if you have one. It seems like usually you'll have to cut it out.

I have the Pioneer 480, and if I were doing it again, I'd probably go with the one you're considering, just for the red lighting. Other than that, they're almost identical.

I used a Metra #99-4000 Turbo-Kit for the plastic spacer, with a CD pocket underneath.

I have the 480mp and I love it! I just cant wait to get the rest of my stuff in the trunk, but with temps in the 100'* here its not gonna happen till next week. I bought the 480 cause I wanted to keep the cost down and needed 3 hi volt rca outs, the parametric eq, and the crossovers. It works perfect for me and it looks right at home with the black and gold face.

IMO, unless ou are spending big bucks, Pioneer is the way to go. Dollar for Dollar, the sound qualtiy, features out the wazoo and power blows away all other brands. Again, that'* just my opinion. If you are spending good money, Alpine and Eclipse seem very nice as well.
