just an idea but u could make them downfire im not sure how much of a gain u would get off of the bottom of the trunk, or how much louder it would or wouldnt make it but it would make it really different.

a buddy of mine has a custom downfiring box in his *-10 ZR2

Holy chit!
It houses two 12" Kicker Comp'* and man does it POUND...
enough to affect your breathing and tickle your noses hairs!!!

and make rain bouce off his roof.

So...it not as flashy...when you look in...but it is very effective and something to think about
