Default planet audio 1200 d

i have a planet audio 1200d that i just replaced with the jl audio 10001 so all my equipment would match. i had it running on 3 10w6'* before i got my 12w7 and it sounded great. my subs were (i blew them with the 10001) dual voice coils so i was running the amp at 1 ohm. that is what this amp really needs to see to get the 1000 watts that it is rated at.

Without looking at the box, I'll guess and say 35w x 4 into 4 ohms & 50w x 1 into 4 ohms RMS. It is a 2/3/4/5 channel amp and potentially can run the whole car. If you want to just run the sub, check the impedance. If it'* 2 ohms than this will be OK to run it. It'* in the neighborhood of 90w x 1 RMS into 2 ohms.

If the impedance is 4 ohms, it might be a little too whimpy to run your box.

Well i got the box...i am very happy with the looks...
I have a small amp running it right now (125 Watt rms)...and sounds ok(tooo under powered)..but
i got another one on the way...

These are set up for a single 4 ohm load...which makes it difficult to find a powerful 4ohm mono amp...that is inexpensive...

I picked up a Power Acoustik 2 Channel 1440 Watt LT Series Car Amplifier
Brand new...for $150 shipped
Best Buy had the model lower which was the 980 watt for $199 and it sounded real good...
I grabbed this for $50 less and got more
The box is rated 750 rms and 1500 peak...
I will let ya know how it sounds when is shows!

Power Acoustik 2 Channel 1440 Watt LT Series Car Amplifier

Thanks! I hope so!

Here is a review I had found on that amp....

can't beat the price by mickey24 March 18, 2004
I've been into car audio for a long time and I've had many different systems and many diferrent amps.I have had a JBL 600.1, a mtx 1000d and others for my front+rear speakers. Both of those amps were atleast double the price of the power acoustic lt1440.I am running the amp mono to (2) dual 4ohm audiobahn aw1251t which say they are 400rms each. The amp is briged mono and says its 720x1 at 4ohms.When I say they thump I mean they thump, and I have the gain at 1/2 and the bass boost at 3/4. the amp sounds cleaner, hits harder than both of those other amps. I'm afraid to put the gain up cause I think I'll toast the subs. For all you high end junkys out there I would put this amp up against any of them with equal wattage and you all would be wondering why you spent so much on yours. Best sub amp I've ever owned and the cheapest I've ever owned to. would reccomend it to anyone.
