well i got it on first, then all the car did was click and wouldn't turn over. i cut some rubber back and cleaned up the conections with a wire brush now it starts. i checked it again and i think i over tightened it and damaged some of the threads on the new bolt so im going to get another one just in case. i don't have my subs yet so it'* not a big loss. i think i could put the ring on the bolt i have now it seems like it'* only about a 1/16 of an inch thick it can't hurt. where can i get the longer stock ones at in case? i don't quite trust those brass ones.

Smellbird had problems with the double bolt one on our trip back from T.O. this march
His rubber had problems too when it was full of crud.
I have a 4 post battery 2 side, and 2 top, i use the top post for my accessories (Amp, Angel Eyes)

You can just use a socket to remove the bolt... slide the o-ring on... and then tighten it back down... that is what I did. I can post a pic and socket size if you want...

I'm supprised that you are having difficulty with those replacement bolts. That'* specificly what they are made for. I would think that the threads in the battery would strip before the bolt cause lead is a very soft material. Softer than brass I'd hafta think.

I would stick with the stock connections. The brass ones are very sensitive if you over tighten em by a lil bit you will snap em. Best bet would to have a battery like BonneMeMN.

have you checked the firewall. on the series 1 cars like my 89 there is 2 positive cables one to the starter and one to a junction box on the firewall. i tapped into this box to wire up my amp. makes it very to do, especially when you are running 2 batteries 1 for the car and another in the truck for stereo system
