Here this may save you money: How to unlock radio w/o code
#11
The mounting brackets are bolted onto the side with a nut. They should come off. Doesn't the 1991 mount on the top?
It'* got the 20-pin connector on the back. The data line, steering wheel controls, and the HVAC dimmer control come out of the separate 7 (actually only 6, one is blank) harness on the bottom.
You got SWC on the 1991?

To be on the safe side, lets leave it posted for week to allow our members to print/write any info they want, then delete the thread next monday?
Sound fair?

I'm concerned about liability issues....and legal issues if this thread were to remain. Jeff is ultimately responsible for the content of this forum, and I don't want to leave him in an 'iffy' situation.
I think it'* best if we don't leave this info long-term.

I understand you may be able to find it elsewhere, and others may need it.
However, this is the type of info that would make our radios more desirable to thieves. As a result they should not be able to get it freely. We cannot control other material on the web. We can PM it to somebody we trust.
The Pontiac Delco CD units with an EQ sell for $150-$350 unlocked.

There is no way to restrict who sees this info? Maybe if you made a downloadable file that only members could access. Or have someone have the info, but then send it to whomever is qualified?

Our current software doesn't allow for these possibilities. If we restricted a forum so that a guest couldn't view them, but a registered member could, we wouldn't get much business. On the other hand, the only thing a thief would have to do is register to get the info. It'* best locked away and emailed to whoever may need it. If a couple guys print it out or save it, all someone will have to do in the future is ask for it. Then it can be emailed.
For Jeff'* sake, I don't want it posted here.

My opinion, this info should have never been posted in the first place. I understand we try to help each other out but at the same time anyone can get in here, especially claiming to have a GM vehicle.

Ya, I agree, thats why it was removed. Considering how much those head units actually cost, best not to have it.
Don't blame the original thread author though. I doubt this discussion was his intention.
