Well I vote SEALED either sub. But first question is what amps are you going to be running. Maybe wattage will make the choice. Personally I LOVE MY 2 10W7's!!! :D I perfer little tighter bass and like the responce of a 10 over 12 or bigger. My 10's play plenty low enough, not missing any notes here. I beleive that the bigger the sub the sloppier it will play, but a 13.5w7 with proper wattage will POUND so HARD that you wont be able to notice the slop cause your whole car is going to vibrate. Hope you plan on some series sound dampening.

You would think the JL boxes are pretty good, I 'm not saying there not but my last setup was the JL PRO-wedge with 2 10w3's and I blew a sub ever year off the recomended wattage. I might of turned up the boost and gains once and a while for fun though. Gotta love a warrenty. I got 5 years on everything in my car right now. Kinda want to blow a w7 just to get a new one.

For amps im going to go with jl's 1000/1 or a zapco 2 channel ? ampage will be around 1000 watts rms.Guess im going to go sealed, I would also love to do a custom setup ,but I have kids with big toys and strollers so i have to be able to take subs out frequently :banghead: So i think im going to go for a 13.5 jl prefab box and a 1000/1. Im wonder 2 -12 w7's will fit in my my old kicker prefab box

Ya know, i got a power wedge dealy with a big DEI amp pushing them, and it's making them work very nicely.

Thats one of the boxes I was talking about , Looks good to boot  ,Here the other box I was thinking about , anybody have or see one of these, they look pretty well built http://www.subzoneusa.com/images/12W7ashadow.jpg

That does look well built, you'll need something that's VERY strong, heavy, and you'll need to bolt it down so that doesn't go flying around at all.

The JL w7 13.5" box that they offer at stores is a behemoth am I right... because its just a bad use of space.

I've heard good stuff too, but you definetly don't have a nice company to back you up, Their website was last updated on waaaay back in 2003. They do have a good rep, but i'm still behind the w7. Did you check out adire audio?
