i guess it can also depend on who is driving it im pretty short, u dont neccessarily have to put them in the typical spot in the corner, u could also put them on the side of the footwell, out of the way of the petals, either way i think unless u put the bigger speakers in the doors like u said, it would be a ballancing act between room and sound

Fitting 8" speakers up front would be verty tricky. More so in the 00+ G Body bonnevilles, then the H body. all of the mid bass in the middle of the dash might be a little funny, What if you could work it under the seat, or right infront of the seat down low? The power seats get in the way a lot though...

Yeah it'* possible, but not easy was my point. Front mounted speakers would be so much easier....

That'* a nice SQ setup in that Cyclone. Maybe some day I'll make kick panels and get some dedicated mid-bass up front. See that as my only option, don't what to have to get gib time custom and cut up my inner door skins like that. Also easier on older cars with simplier door panels and thicker doors. Not a lot of curves on older cars. The Typhoon emblem looks classy too.

Back on topic, I agree that if you want to do multi sub sizes get a 15 and 8'*. Tuning will take time and patience, but when it'* finally right, it should sound great. There some modivation for ya. Just curious why do you want to port the boxes?

thats why u'd build a little compartment like the stock locations for 5 1/4s. An 8 is not a lot bigger than a 6 1/2...and those seem to fit. It all custom work obviously. But the pocket seems deep enough in the doors that with the door panels extuding where the components are that a 8 could fit.

The ultimate would be getting an 8 to fit in the stock door location and remounting components in kick panels by your feet. Kick panels are the best for have music sent evenly to both ears. The stock locations are kind of lame for going aftermarket speaks, but it works.

If you want to keep this simple...upgrade all the interior speaks and just worry about same size subs/sub.

I plan on adding a sub to accompany my amped up interrior speakers. Probably just a 12" alpine type r with a 500watt mono amp. Just enough to definately even out the sound.
