Default Good sources for head units and kits?

The display in my '96 bonneville se isn't working, rather than ripping it out and messing with it, I'd rather just throw in a new head unit. What'* a good place to get a cheap "normal" head unit, and the kit to install it, does bestbuy sell the kits?

If you have an OEM unit, you can't just replace the head. You'll have to add a harness and dash kit. It all depends on what you want. Check out Crutchfield Car Audio: Subwoofers, Car Stereos, Amps, Receivers, CD Players

Ya, Crutchfield is definitely the Walmart of the audio world.

For all the radios I've seen on there, it says that they are going to extend an inch out of the dash. Does anyone have a picture of what that might look like?

Does it look really bad, do you see the side of the radio and what not?

Give me a day or so. I can post a pic on what that will look like. The interior in a 96 looks just like my 97. Since I have a aftermarket CD player in it, I can show you what it looks like.

what are you wanting from the HU? Do you want I-pod, Nav or Bluetooth? How about DVD? Are you running amps how many? A good local shop can install it for you in about an hour or so and can recommend the right HU based upon your needs. Crutchfield is the best place online to buy but local doesn't hurt either, should be the same cost as they are and you can have them install it which gives you more time to enjoy your car or work on it however you like. If you need a recommendation for a local shop just let me know.

I'm basically looking for a head unit to pick up radio well and to have an auxiliary port. I'm running stock speakers, and right now the ones in the back do not work, and I think it'* the fault of the OEM radio I have in.

Install wise, I'd like to do it myself, I've done one before at my friend'* shop, although he pulled the dash apart...
