For Aviator and Fuddy...
I have a stereo simmilar to the 5 band EQ CD stereo in the pic... I have managed to break the volume ****, or at least the switches in the unit... Now the vol is rendered useless... I'd suggest a newer unit like the one you were talking about from the 99 Grand Am... I know it will plug and play as long as the theft loc is not set... Fuddy any suggestions here?[/quote
Don, I wish it would work in my 92. I am not concerned about the theft loc feature. If it would plug and play that would be great. I am just not sure if the unit out of the 99 GA would fit into the chassis of my 92.

Don, the CD player in your pic is exactly like the one I was at a local yard last week. They have the CD player that came out of a 99 GA. Since I just got out bid on ebay on the 93 unit I think I will go there next week to check it out. I will see if I can sweet talk them into letting me hooking it up to mine to check it out first. I just want the CD player so I can listen to my goat roping music.
Fuddy, that'* the first interior pic I've seen of your car. VERY nice. I'd eat off your carpets (not your seat, mind you, but the carpets for sure).
Flyboy, without the auto climate control, you can do just about anything you want. I just saw one of those 'rare' 92/93 cd'* in a 93 SSEi at the dealer the other day when we were test driving that Ram Air GA GT. That'* the only one I've ever physically seen.
I agree with the advice of going newer if you can. Jseabert'* volume did the same thing Don'* did. Had to scrap it. He was lucky enough to get a replacement for his 93SSE from a member here. Go for lifetime if you can. Alas, his replacement was also cassette, like my stock radio. I just chose to add a CD changer in the trunk and keep the stock look/sound.

wilwren, I am going to check it out the first of the week. Don't want aftermarket. I prefer the red light effect. Was checking out bonnie94sse tunk lid insulator when I took the stoppers to him. Need to get me one.
When you check out the stereos, pull yours out. It'* a 2 minute job. Take it in with you for comparison of wiring harnesses.
That trunk lid insulator should have been on ALL cars. It prevents condensation under the trunk lid, and a water-filled spare tire well. A good investment.

wilwren, Good idea. I am assuming that the wood trim piece covering the radio just prys off with a flat tip screwdriver or something?
