Default Getting new Alpine in dash TV w/touch screen!

OK so my current Alpine 7998 deck is starting to skip sometimes and my installer informed me of a recall out on it, so I can get store credit, Decided to go with Alpines new TV, the touch screen is very nice, first of it'* kind to "feel like touching a button" screen. I've thought about getting a screen since I started entering stereo competitons, never would of got one other wise. Don't really plan on watching much TV with it though, Maybe a few DVD'* though. Girlfriend will watch movies on road trips. But the thing is just so cool. Lot'* of EQ stuff and has newer i-personalize so I will be able tune my system little more than I can now. Looking forward to it, going in for install in 2 weeks. can't wait.

Little info on it

You are correct, the DVD/TV should only work in Park, main word is Should, there'* ways around that. Getting a hot wire switch for it, so at judging time it'* all legal.

Don't worry I'm not stupid enough to watch something and drive at the same time.
I might pop in something X rated though and blast it during rush hour just for kicks.

Do you have to have it legal for compititions? I mean do they check on that stuff?? Oh yeah... in some states playing porno constitutes a higher fine....

Yeah they do, not all stereo comp orginazations, but the good ones do, plus if I ever have a problem with it and the police I'll show them that I wasn't watching anything, it was just my screen saver. Look officer it won't play in drive

I'm very jealous, Taylor. I've been looking into getting a similar in-dash screen with nav for my truck but can't seem to bring myself to part with that kind of scratch. $2k puts me closer to those new kitchen cabinets.

That'* going to be awesome in an already killer car!

Well with my store credit on my old headunit, I only got to dish out $400 or so for it, also getting a wee bit of a discount. Retail is $1,500 for it. don't try the math, it'* fuzzy

Wow...the Head Unit you are putting in your car cost almost as much as my car....thats insane. That is a very nice car though, the head unit will just make it that much nicer. I can definately see that winning a couple more competitions...or a lot.
