Default gain switch and auto antenna

My head unit does not have a power antenna lead, just amp turn on. SO whenever I turn on my deck the antanna goes up. Would it be possible to run a wire from the amp turn on lead through the on/off switch of the gain control so I could manually raise and lower the antenna when the deck is on? I dont want to install a seperate switch just for this, but I dont want the antenna going up everytime i turn on the stereo.
