Default Front Speaker Size?

I've started to upgrade the factory sound system in my '96 SE. I've upgraded the deck and rear speakers and now am focused on the front speakers. The guy at best buy said they're 5.25 inch, but at crutchfield they're posted as 4". They look like 4" and i havent pulled of the door panel yet. Anyone know what they are exactly?

it should be 5.25. If you have a door panel with only one grill, it will be 4x6. I think that ended in 1993 though. If there is 2 speaker grills, than it is 5.25.

they're 5.25. Crutchfield gives you the largest size taht will fit in your factory location plus in addition, they offer sizes smaller that will fit with the use of an adapter plate, such as 4".

They are 5.25 mids with a 1 inch tweeter. Infinity and polk make good affordable components, or you could upgrade to something like the elemental designs components or maybe the alpine type R components.
