front doors
i had to return one of my front door speakers this weekend(mid just stopped working) and i was talkng to the installer at the shop. i was asking if jl audio had some super speaker coming out to go with there 4504 amp sine it is rated a 150 watts a channel and jl audio'* best speaker is rated at 100 watts rms. he said not that he knew of but questioned the fact that i was questioning the speakers i just bought. he asked what i put them in and how they were installed. i told him how the speaker was mounted to the door panel. he laughedand took me to his truck with the same speakers and amp. he had put dynamate on the doors and mounted the speakers in the door not the door panel. man what a diffrence. i knew they were good speakers but my goodness they sounded like subs. i was amazed at the diffrence and it made me wonder if anyone else has pulled there speakers from the door panel to put them in the door. and i thought i was done with the stereo for now...wrong. oh and by the way he said if i wanted better front speakers i would have to get focal. price tag 1,000.00.
Yes Ive seen this done. And your right it makes the world of a differance with the dyno in there. You should do this yourself. Im not sure that you have to take it out of the current location and and remount it. Couldnt you just dyno the inside of the mount where it is now?
Yup, I'm dynomatting my whole car this summer. The zeb has a bulk pack for reletively low price..... www.thezeb.com
i know this is gonna sound crazy.... 3/4" carpet padding and expanding spray foam... works wonders.. but you need to wait till spring/summer to do the foam, or else it freezes inside and rusts from the inside out while its not set up properly...
