Default free air subs

whats everyones take on that kinda of installation, seams to be a cheep way of setting up a sub between the 2 6x9'* in the back if you were to cut out an opening and mount it there an all that fun stuff or would it not even be worth it? just curious on how that would work if at for sq an probability of working

well the problem with this set up is that the sub (if rated for free air) will usually only be able to run half the rms because there is really no air chamber and the sub will flex more but not put out good sound since it will flex farther and not have the normal recoil as a sub in a box would. if you are not careful with this setup you can blow the sub easily. not a very practical idea unless you build an enclosure underneath it which has a nice air tight seal so then u would basically have a sub in a box. you can try it but more than likely you will not get what you are looking for in a good system.

alright was just curious so if I ever decided to "upgrade" my stock step up if that could be one way to go or not, I like all my trunk space I dont want to get rid of half of it with amps an subs like a few of thous on here, nor am I gonna try and rattle my car with it or such either, highly doubt the car next to me will want to be able to hear my music or its beet if an when I do it I'll be sure to post results but dont hold your breath on it
