I'm looking for more vol from my factory 64 Bonnevilles AM/FM radio. It has a very good sound but with the 4 ohm front and rear speakers and factory headers I need more vol while driving. It has a built in crossover network mounted in the dash that directs base to the rear seat speaker and mid and treble to the front speaker.
Is there a simple add on amp I could use here.

so you want like a small 4 channel amp basically? can that even be hooked up to an old radio?

you can hook an amplifier up to any radio. Now, if it'* static free and clear is another story. If you use a line output converter, or just buy an amplifier with hi level inputs you can hook it up to the factory stereo. Is that crossover network factory? What size are the speakers in that car? I'd assume 6x9'* in the rear and 3.5"* in the front?

It has 2 Pioneer 4 ohm 4X10 speakers.
Its a mono radio but with the factory 1964 Pontiac crossover. The amp needs two channels.
I could hook the amp input up after the crossover.
The radios sound is very clear. I had a radio tech go over it and clean things up.
I also run a Sony add on trunk mounted CD player that connects to the radios antenna lead. It sounds very clear.
It needs a more power, when I want it loud, I have to turn it up almost all the way.
Its like the Pioneer speakers are not being pushed hard enough even at part volume.
The factory speakers were 8 ohms but didn't sound nearly as good as the 4 ohm Pioneers.

that is a decent price for that amp, but if you want it to sound good i think that you should at least upgrade to a stereo head unit and get a stereo amp. That way it wil sound more realistic
