Default This Is Driving Me Crazy!!!!!!

So I put a new head unit in my car made by pioneer and when i turn the volume up the speakers go out. The volume is not really that loud when I turn it up but it'* beginning to make me very frustrated. I've been awake in my buddies shop for three days now. I drive a '95 SSEi and I can't figure it out for the life of me. If I turn the bass and treble down all the way I can turn it up louder but the music sounds crappy because of it and I can't tune my amp.

Hopefully you guys can help me out because I really don't wanna have it professionally done.

does the sound cut out completely? and have you made sure you have color matched all of the wires? not to point out the obvious things first lol but like you said you are just slightly sleep deprived... if you have a wire crossed someplace it may cut out as a safety measure

i would say it is a faulty deck then... if you bought it new then i would suggest bringing it back otherwise if you bought it from a friend ask him about its history and see if there is something you can do to it to make it work or have a tech savvy frind look at it lol.... i have had some experiences similar to that and it ended up being a fryed out capacitor or resistor in the deck but it could also be that it is drawing too much power and it is just broken idk.... keep it posted as to weather or not you find a soloution or if someone has a better answer than me

good luck!

hmm... fuses are all good? thick enough wiring to the power source? only other things would be check your ground make sure it is tight and to a well grounded source.. also is the impediance of the speakers your sending signal to of the same as the deck for instance an 8 ohm deck trying to power 4 ohm speakers... also check the positive terminal for excessive corrosion that can caus a short otherwise you may be pulling too much power off your 12v connection and you may need a fused link

after doing that you will probably have a grounded wire somewhere thats touching a posative wire because i have had this problem many times thats always the case. also does the speakers sound distorted when you turned up the volume?
