2002 SSEi rear 6x9 installation - HELP!
Hi,
Can someone give me some guidance on replacing the rear 6x9s...
I have purchased top mount replacements - is there an easy way to install them?
HELP!
Thanks as usual!

there should be two metal brackets at the bottom of the lumbar portion that are held in place by a bolt on each one. at the top of the lumbar, there are three compression clipse the prongs are pointing north and south. you will need a pair of needle nose pliars to compress them and pull the lumbar away before releasing. give the c pillars a solid pull (not jerking them or pulling on the unevenly. with the lumbar removed, you will notice that the rear deck is held in place by two body clips. they would normally be covered by the top of the lumbar. After you do this, pull the rear deck up and out. My last peice of advice is to consider mounting the speakers from underneath. This will make any future installs very easy.

You may use self tapping screws, or you can drop bolts or cap screws through the top and use a nut on the bottom. I would also recommend sealing around the perimeter with sound deadner to seal it to the bottom of the rear deck better. What brand did you decide to go with btw? Still running polk?

Yup, Polk MM Series, best sounding speaker I heard - and I listened to a lot of them, lol...
The Polk MMs stood out...
6.5 components in the front door
5.25 coaxials in the rear door
6x9 in the rear deck

Same as they all said. im late. However, I didnt have to remove the C pillars. I removed the bottom and top seat and lifted the rear deck past the pillars edge. That gives you access to the screws to remove the speakers.
