Default Delco Stereo w. cd player

Hi, I have the stock Delco stereo w. cd player - like the one that aviator327 aquired. My question is this, how easy is it to install an aftermarket stereo/cd player, and will you still have the steering wheel controls for it? Also, does anyone know what the wattage output for those Delco stereo'* w. cd player is? And how much power does this built in factory amp have?

They sell adapter kits to fit normal size cd players into the large open area for the stock GM cd player. Oh by the way, I am VERY interested in buying that GM Delco CD player off you if you decide to sell it!

Both the radio & the amp aint much. The speakers are 10 ohm so its not going to take much power to power them. I think Pioneer sells factory size raadios for our car as well. Ill try & find it for ya.

My son showed me this awhile back. A friend of his put an aftermarket stereo in his Firebird (late 90'*) and used one to maintain the use of his controls on the steering wheel.

theres the pioneers I was talking about. The model #'* are:
Pioneer DEH-P47DH which you can get for $200. Heres the link.

The other is the:
Pioneer DEH-P77DH which you can get for $230. Heres the link.

Plus most of the radios come with remotes, I would rather have that then to spend 50 bucks to keep the steering wheel controls. Just my thought.

If you want one of those rare 92-93 CD players PM me and I will give you the address and phone# where I got mine after an extensive search. I think they still have a few left.

I'd hate to trash it being it'* hard to find. There'* no way to fix it? What are common causes of this problem?

I had one of those. Biggest Pita I ever saw. I'd never buy another if you paid me for it. It also requires a HU with an IR port.

Justin, I'd take that sucker apart. I bet considering the history of your car, that you just need a thorough cleaning.
