I would like a way to "get it up". No but seriously I want to listen to the radio and my pioneer 6400 won't allow me to do so. Could I hook the stocker back up then unplug the antenna power on the antenna itself? I really don't want it to stay up all the time but if it needs to be that way then it'll do. Please help.

If your Pioneer radio dosen't have a power antenna output, then you could connect it to a switched accessory source. If you do this, the antenna will go up then the ignition is is the accessory (back) position or run. It will go back down when the ignition is turned back off.

Or you could do as you mentioned and leave it up all the time.

there is a blue wire coming out of the deck remote turn on (really its for a amp) but i think that will work

As far as I know the power antenna needs power to stay up. So if you unplug the antenna while it is up it will just go back down. I you hook it up so it stays up all the time it could run your battery down. If your stereo doesn't have any kind of wire for an amp or accessory the best way would be to do like randman1 said and hook it up to your ignition.

try the remote (amp) wire that should definitely work.

A switched accessory source is a wire that will show +12v in the accessory and run position only. As opposed to a constant source which will show +12v at all times. Both are connected to the radio. If I remember Pioneer radios correctly, the yellow wire is constant and the red wire is switched. You just need to "tap" into the switched wire and connect to the vehicle'* power antenna lead.

Are you using a vehicle specific wire harness from Metra or other manufacturer?

I have a Metra Harness.

Not constant, switched (red). Was the above mentioned the same HU that you have? DEH-P6400? If so, no tappin' required. Use the blue/white wire off of the radio and connect to the power antenna lead of the Metra harness. Normal operation then.
