decible meter - GM Forum - Buick, Cadillac, Chev, Olds, GMC & Pontiac chat

Audio (and aftermarket electronics) This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

Search for an Audiocontrol EPIC-160. Probably the most 'reasonably priced' meter that will do over 130dB. Unfortunately, it still isn't cheap. Otherwise, check at a few local shops. Many should have an Audiocontrol or Termlab meter to test with for a small fee.

Make sure you're placing it in the correct metering area as well..
