Default Dash Kits.....

What is you favorite?

Metra 99-3320 Pontiac Multi Kit
Sticks out a little bit.

Metra 99-4544 GM multi kit
I used the flush mount plate with this mess.

Metra 99-3300 Chev. Olds. Pont. Multi Kit
And finally the one I like best is a recessed mount.

The illumination hooks into the dash light circuit and dims or brightens with the dash..as you can see..it matches..and my pic sucks.

I have one too, it'* very nicely made from waht I can tell, and Mark, the owner of the site, was very helpful and understanding. Mine'* not in yet, so no pictures. Bill- how did you secure the CD player behind the mount so it wasn't just floating?

I just put a new HU in my wife'* Bonneville last weekend. I used a multi-fit kit, similar to the second one you show. I had to wing it a bit, as the instructions didn't have the bracket settings for our '94. But by setting both the old factory unit, and my new one in the mounting bracket, i was able to find 3 of the enclosed brackets that I could make work. I thought it turned out really well, I will have to try and remember to snap a couple pictures.

So far I am just running the new HU thru the stock speakers. I have not purhased the interface to regain use of my wheel-mounted controls, that is next on my list. Then I will worry about speaker upgrades.

I used the same multi-fit kit in my *-Blazer, and was very impressed by the way it worked, and it'* final fit in the dash.

That illuminated one sure does look cool, though. I'll have to settle with my install, and the $9.99 dash kit I bought, though.

as far as recessed vs flush vs sticks out a little, it really depends on the deck you are using.

the HUMOUNT.com stuff looks pretty nice if you want the logo sitting there lit up like the 4th of july. if i was using it in my bonneville with a deck full of bright blue dots it would drive me nuts. and thats a shame, because I really like the P7700 pioneer.

I saw Bills last weekend and it really is done nicely. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one and actually looking at everything but from the outside it is well worth the money. The glow really isn't distracting. Worst case you put the glow around the HU on-off-on a switch so you can select on, off, or on with the dash lights.

I used the middle one you have listed and flush mounted my HU.

do they only make the "SSEi supercharged" one? If so, won't it be kind of 'ricerish' to have a "supercharged SSEi" lit up logo in your interior if you're an SSE or SE owner?

I'm sure they can do different stuff. Once they have a shop setup it should only take them like 30 seconds to change the programming for different text.
