Default Couple easy alarm questions

Ok, I got an alarm with remote start last week, its all installed and good to go...I only have 2 questions that seem to be pesky little prolems...
1) The alarm doesnt go off when I open the trunk, I found the wire for the trunk trigger (its little spring loaded thing on the latch that tells the light to turn on) I know its Orange/black and its on the light harness....my question is...is there a spot closer to the dash to find this wire, instead of running a wire all that way...maybe in the drivers kick panel? I figure I can just wire it into the door trigger wire using the diode isolate method like I did for the other door triggers.
2) The dome lights dont come on when I disarm the alarm like they should. I tapped into the ground wire in the footwell light (white wire), but it doesnt work...do I need a relay to provide more power? The alarm gives off a - signal and the light'* ground is the switched wire, so I know I dont need a relay to change the signal (like I had to do for the trunk release)

any help is appreciated

1. Nope no where else to get it.
2. Light green/ black stripe at the BCM (Behind the glove box) - trigger What brand starter/Alarm do you have? Seems like a 250ma - should be enough to signal the BCM to light the domes.

its a Galaxy alarm....the output for the domes is 500 ma-, so it should definetely be enough.

Should be. May not, I am not sure about that.

Default INSTALLER EXPERIENCE

if there is a light on the dash for the trunk ajar, then i GUARANTEE you can get it closer to the dash!!!! the signal has to get there somewhere. follow that wire from the trunk, figure out which side of the car it runs up (there'* only 2 sides, unless it runs down the middle, which would be VERY unusual) pull the trim off and pull the carpet back. you will most likely have to open up a loom of wires to find it, but it'* there.... you'll just have to find the correct wire color and test for it there.

and about the domelight supervision!!! if it'* just a 500 ma output from the alarm, and you're using the white wire right at the light, i GUARANTEE that you need to use a relay! 500ma is NOT enough to light up all the lights in the car! be careful that you did not blow up that output from the alarm. some of them don't like it when you try to power things (or ground, whichever the case may be) directly from the brain...

use a relay to boost the signal if you are using that white wire.

I agree with 89SSE. The trunk trigger not only tells the light to come on but also alerts the DIC that the trunk is open. This wire should be able to be found in the left kick panle/sill plate area. A relay will be required if connecting to the white wire on one of the under dash lights. However, if you took the time to find the door trigger input to the RAC module, you could use the low current 500ma output. Without looking at the manual I'd say that you can get this wire in the driver'* door jamb boot. It will be the dome light trigger wire from the door latch assembly.

1995 Lists it red/black in the drivers kick. 1994, 1999, and 2000 do not so I am not sure that its there or not. Look for a red/black - in drivers kick.
