http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/...&highlight=LED

I used to be/am a member of this forum. Today I was browsing for some LED info and saw this.... and I want to do it. My question is can it be done to our bonnevilles? Thanks!

Sure, you just need the correct resistor to use with the LED that you purchase.

What determines the resistor, I don't really know, and got kind of confused when I was reading the other posts.... :? Thanks!

http://www.7volts.com/led_resistor.htm

Do you like algebra?

For your car, use

R=(12volts -LED voltage required)/(current in milliamps)*1000

R will tell you the resistor that you need.

for a 30mA led (common) you need a 470ohm resistor at 12-14.5volts

so that would be ____+wire________ZZ-resistor-ZZ______* LED*____-wire or ground.

On my PC i have some BIG 5mm LEDs with 285ohm resistors. I was actually looking at playing with some LEDS inside. If you have 4 LEDS in series, you can run them off 12v straight most of the time.
