I was just curious if anyone has had any experience with the iPod connetors that connect to the car sterior via FM radio transmissions. There are many different types from many different manfacuters and I'm not sure which to go with. And I definitly don't wanna get an new HU, at least not yet. So any opinions or comments would be appreciated.

I tried the $35ish Apple model (iTrip), and the sound quality was aweful. Then I traded up to a $130 Monster charger/transmitter, still had crappy quality IMO.

I've yet to see a transmitter that had decent quality.

Transmitter = bad news, i tried two other name brands, and was extremely unhappy..

So, what options do I have? Is there a kit or something I can attach to the factory Bose system? Or is a new HU my only real option?

What HU do you have? Is it a single CD, CD changer, does it have the AUX setting?

I ask because there is a better option available for some of our HUs. Let me go try and find the site again, if I can....

The better connector kits will allow you to attach anything that can use RCA plugs, including IPod and XM radios.

I have the BOSE 8-Speaker system with single CD and Tape Deck. No AUX button from what I can see.

basically anything that modulates to FM inline or transmitted sounds like garbage IMO.. some sound OK, but none that i have heard are really good enough to encourage somone to try for themselves

This is a direct input into your factory deck. Any deck that has the 9-pin Aux connector in the back. Most of ours have that connector BTW. It works... and well.
