If you have the old radio still around, give it a shake. Sometimes the lense for the laser comes unglued and the 'jolt' might have set it free. I fixed many a cd unit with a 1/4 drop of superglue.

I'll try this, thanks.

Are there any instructions on how to open one of these radios up and clean the lense?

If I had that kind of money, I wouldn't spend it on a radio, let alone one with a TV in it. Aren't you supposed to be watching the road?

Thanks but no thanks.

I think the best thing for you to do may be to find a company that repairs factory radios. I dont know about a trick that involves shaking your radio but I would not do it to mine. Radios and dvd players all have problems with the eye when someone uses burned cd'* all the time. My aunts dvd player had the same problem after about 2-3 years of playing primarily burned discs. Do you have on star in your car? Also a side note, when you get a chance, add the year and model of your car is in your sig. It makes it easier for us to find out what model you have without having to repost over and over again throughout the thread asking what it is. If you have onstar, the harness will cost about $100

Well, my radio feels nice and solid, so I'll give it a few gentle shakes. The CD player doesn't work anyway, right? :P

I do not have on-star.

I've added my information to my signature. Thanks.

I'll try, thanks. But that doesn't really explain why both radios give the error.

Anyway, thanks.
What kind of music do you listen to? Maybe your Bonneville doesn't share the same taste?

You can get a harness for like $10 and I hate you!!! Lol! Us owners with onstar have to buy a harness that would replace the door chime and bypass the onstar system. Our factory harness is a ribbon cable like what you would see in a computer. Using a regular harness instead of the one made for our cars, creates the risk of losing our air bags and other electrical problems... You my friend are lucky. I strongly suggest to you that you buy a new radio. Dude you can find a cheap pioneer or jvc or any other brand on ebay for less than $100 Save your money and do it

I'm glad I don't have on-star anyway. I'm not one for all these new safety "features" (hassles?).

I'm willing to buy another radio, but the problem is that I already did and it displayed the same error.
