capacitors are mostly bandaids for a weak electrical system

pat means you need to look into replacing your alternator or maybe your battery...

if you dont wanna do that... get a 1 farad cap

unless the meter is going into the red when the bass hits, you dont need a thing

alot of sound guys will tell you a good rule of thumb is 1 farad for every 800 - 1000 watts...but to be honest ...i have had a 2 farad cap and my gauge and lights still flickered till i picked up an optima battery....as pat stated before a cap won't always help a system especially if it isn't up to par in the first place.

PS there is a wire upgrade procedure for the chassis electrical...do a search and you should come across it..i did it a long time ago and it helped alot.

the reason it didn't help is that caps dont take any load off your electical system, they just sort of level the load out. You still have to recharge the cap. while playing more music.

The wire upgrade helped me a LOT too. Search for the "Big 3"

a larger alt. and better battery, and wire upgrades should be your first steps.

Big 3 are:

1) Alt to battery
2) Battery to body
3) Engine to Chasis

3) Engine to Chasiscan also directly to the battery if that works out for you because then you upgrade the battery to negative, so it turns out to be the same
IMO, 4 awg is sufficient for almost all systems. And its not too expensive and still easy to bend.
