Hey darkmetal,

I'm planning on a trip to the auto wrecker tomorrow so I can see up close what these look like. It'* been crazy at work and I just haven't had a chance. I'll post a message tomorrow. If you purchase the blue LED lamps which are a drop-in replacement for a #74 bulb, they will already have the required current/voltage limiting resistor in the base. It'* only if you want to add a discreet LED you need to worry about extra parts. In any event, I'll take a closer look tomorrow and let you know.

Then these should work for ya
They at bulb # 74

bandit posted this earlier. It'* cerrtainly worth a look. They show both blue incandescents and blue LED replacements here. Both are direct drop-in replacements for a #74 bulb. You'd probably get brighter and more even light from the blue incandescents though. I'd order some of each since they're fairly inexpensive and go with personal preference. I picked-up a lamp assembly from the wrecker yesterday and clearance shouldn't be a problem. If you check out the link bandit posted you'll see lots of options. The 'Tri-Power 3 LED Bulb' at the top of the page may be too large, but look further down.

You may also want to order some new twist in bases that the bulbs plug into. Over time the plastic may have become brittle and could create a challenge when you want to pull out the old bulbs and put the new ones in. Just a thought to save some possible headaches later.

When I went to the wrecker the other day and pulled one from a vehicle, the bulb was marked '74'. Also, when I went to the Sylvania website, this is the number listed for the courtesy lamp. I can't be absolutely positive because I have limited experience with pre-2000 Bonnevilles, but everything so far says they are #74 lamps. The other possiblity may be that a previous owner has already made some modifications.

I know for a fact that its 100% a #74, Why? cuz i bought 4 at my local parts store

darkmetal, Why must we keep repeating our selfs when we try to help you?
in this thread we have posted link after link and Bulb #74 like 10 times and you still keep asking.

If you have another question ask it. if not go out and get the bulb and try it, its gonna work
