BCM could be one of two things..

Body Control Module or Blower Control Moodule, to my knowledge on your car..speed isn't brought into either. Maybe have him look to the transmission for the 4000 ppm?

exactly, the gps does not need any input from the car. It calculates by timing signals from different satelites.

If it is the body control module that your were asking about, your car does not have a BCM as such. It is made up of 3 modules; the dash integration module, the instrument panel integration module, and the rear integration module.

I agree with the others that the GPS should be able to detect vehicle speed without any input from the car.

You guys are all wrong.....

The wire off of the headunit the OP is talking about is Speed Pulse.

Correct that the GPS will get aprx speed from the satellite It will not give exact.

The speed pulse give detailed info to the unit and in part help determine eta.

Now the question for OP should be What Head Unit are you installing.

that SPeed Pulse wire should go to VSS.
