in the process of looking through the postings to see how to get my iPod to interface with the factory Bose I saw the posting from all of you on how to take apart and solder here, wire in there, etc etc. and I didn't think I had the know how to try. This prompted me to search the internet and I found the following:

Installer.com/aux/ which looks like a company that makes lots of adapters. I went into the "Look up" field, I entered my make of car (pontiac) and the year (1992) and up came a set up (part # x3-GM9) that will give me up to 3 sets of inputs, looks like it will plug into the middle of my factory wire harness and away we go.

Any input on these guys ? Has someone in the club tried these parts before ?

It looks pretty good for an electronics neophyte like myself and it will make my "chaffeur Kato" very happy because I will quit griping about the quality of music on the FM stations.

be very carefull with these kits. most require a unit that is remote cd changer compatible. make sure you call and inquire specifically about your headunit.

the x3 goes in place of the cd changer, your headunit isn't cd changer capable. it won't work

IF I had the appropriate factory wire harness, the PAC iPAC-OEM WOULD HAVE BEEN plug-n-play.

The problem IS NOT the iPod adapter, the problem is the FACTORY WIRING.

You will notice I am ADDING TO THE FACTORY HARNESS so the iPod adapter can be used at all.

BTW Sonoma, I did call them back and forced them to do more research. Up shot is that it won't work with my car because I do not have a CD changer as you noted.
