Still making changes to the system, CD player throws errors sometimes, but I think I got the workaround figured out.
Just gotta do some soldering.

OK! Finished, tested, amazing!
Here you can see where the pod sits, and the two switches which control my Infinity subs, and the other one switches between CD and aux in:
Stereo ripped out, fixing the E23 the CD unit was throwing earlier. Had to change the way some common grounds were hooked up so the CD unit wouldn't lose it'* data line grounding when you switch the input to AUX.
Pod screen tinted to match the stereo'* screen quite nicely:
The silver wire near the bottom is a piece I had to add to the relay system to ensure the aforemention common ground connections to prevent the errors I was getting:
Everything gloriously ripped apart:
Here with the radio mostly reinstalled you can see where the relay sits, held tightly in there:
Switches:
THIS PIC IS FOR GARB! lol: yay me!
Finished layout:
This is how much extra wire there is:
And you can disconnect the minijack from the pod dock connector system, to attach to any other device you may be interested in hooking up, portable DVD player, laptop, whatever:
AGAIN I must say the quality is AMAZZZING, and once I got all the bugs worked out its functionally wicked.
Super happy

Brad:
Where do we purchase the items we need for this modification? I would like to round them up before you post the directions so that I will have them on hand to begin ASAP.
If you could be so kind as to tell us what we need we can get to rounding them up.
Thanks
Gary

Two major more difficult components you need:
A relay, at least double pole double throw, or a pair of single pole double throws. I really like the Omron ones, very high quality signal path. Easy to solder to tabs, and they look good :P
Here'* the relay line you should be looking at from Omron: http://omrwsc.am.omron.com/webapp/wc...tegoryId=16846
Of course it must also be 12V switching.
Second important thing, the dock cable, it MUST be a firewire & lineout cable (if you want charging) if you don't want charging and just want an aux in, you just need a basic minijack patch, whatever length you want.
The USB connects to pins on the pod which can only accept the standard 5V, whereas the firewire input range can be 5-30V perfect for automotive applications.
Here'* the wire you want: http://www.audio-outfitters.com/prod...zLink_LOFW.jpg
Lots of places to find these including eBay, or your local electronics store (maybe, not sure)
Best places to start for both;
relay: www.digikey.com
wire: www.audio-outfitters.com
